SUICIDE - An Unnatural Thing

No creature, other than human beings, in the world commits suicide. Nature has gifted the life to the organisms and they thrive to survive at any cost. That is why every living organisms fight with each other to live at any cost. Rats live in the same fields where snakes throng, deers in Lionel forest, worms and insects in hot sunny days. They never think of committing suicide just because they cannot earn food, they cannot beat the enemy, they cannot find out pairs of any other inefficiencies. Even an earthworm raises its head to protest against the spade falling on it. It never surrenders meekly or runs towards its grave fearing the farmers. It is only we human beings fear living. This is because of our evolution to utilise the sixth sense.

The person committing suicide gives unnecessary work to his brain which goes along with his misery. It fails to think beyond his atmosphere and becomes blank, where the person fails to take effective steps to win over the situation. The mind thinks again and again over the failure or the difficult period of life. He thinks there is nothing for him in this world to achieve or he is incapable of anything. So there is an obstruction in the path, which ultimately droves to death.

One who commits suicide takes the extreme step due to his atmospheric compulsions and such decision is not his own or natural. This can be evident when the suicider fights against death during the time of immolation. He runs for shelter to defuse the flame. This inner sense of gift provided by the nature fights against the immolation bid thrust by the sixth sense on the body. Finally the sixth sense wins over the fight and alas! a valuable life is denied a chance in the world.

Whatever be the cause, one should not think of committing suicide. This world is for us. It is our property. Just because somebody has made fun of us or made derogatory remarks against us or denied us an opportunity in the life or made obstructions on our path to progress, we should not take a call to suicide. This is cowardice act and unnatural. Recently we have witnessed people immolating themselves for a cause, which remains unresolved even after their death. They are ignited by voluminous speeches centered around caste and creed. They are charged and emotive to the issue. They wanted to do something for the cause which is beyond their reach. Their inefficiency to do good for the cause droves them to commit suicide. We cannot term the act as barbaric, since barbarians never commit suicide. They fight and kill the enemy. Here in our society we kill ourselves and give the enemy a chance to live.

It is pity that Ms. Senkodi (should be Chenkodi) of Kanchipuram has immolated herself recently. It was stated that she took the extreme step when she could not stop the noose hanging over the heads of killers of late Prime Minister Rajeev Gandhi. The repeated and charged speeches made by some leaders should have provoked her to be charged emotionally. She should have been counselled from taking such a move and given a chance to think properly. But she was charged uncontrollably and her brain lost the right path of reasoning. The end result is death of a bright and young lady. No one except her family is the loser in such games of suicide. Somebody may condole her death, even interested persons or the Government may declare solatium to her family. But that cannot match a life. In fact in such acts of suicide, the Government should charge those leaders who gave charged speeches and advises to the victims to take such steps. They may not have taken  interest in killing her but they are causes for the death of a young girl. These people should have been charged for 'abetting murder' and legal proceedings should be initiated. Their emotive and charged speeches on caste, creed and lingual lines have driven the victims to suicide. So they should be charged and such kind of activities in future should be avoided.

Only these idiotic leaders given inflammable speeches. They give advise to the younger generation to do or die. What a poor student or unemployed youth can do in issues like Srilankan Problem or Telangana Problem. Addicted by the speeches of these kind of pseudo leaders these poor fellows wanted to achieve their goal by doing something. When their activities could not give the desired result they finally decide to end their lives. Our ancestors are great human beings who have very good consolation to the sad people. Hearts filled with sorrow cannot raise to the occasion to meet the challenge. They should be given enough strength and super tonic to fight for the cause. In contrast to the inhuman leaders of modern age, who rake up the emotive issues, Sri Krishna of Bhagavad Gita gives very good advise to Arjuna, whose heart is bleeding with sorrow. After hearing Krishna's advise Arjuna stood with brave heart and wins the battle. Neither Arjuna wanted to commit suicide nor Krishna advocated it.

Attempting to commit suicide is an offence under the Indian Penal Code. Those who failed the attempt are charged and those who commit the offence escapes from the clutches of law. Even the Supreme Court has advised the Government to revisit the law and give the victims necessary counseling to prevent suicides. Alas! our governments have never dreamed of making every human being to live without any fear. Our people live constantly under the fear of something or the other. Poverty is the major cause of suicide. Government has long ago deviated from the path of alleviating poverty. Instead they are giving more and more doldrums to the rich and corporate people at the cost of poor and penury. They are rendered homeless and jobless. Their huts are torched to give way for a corporate house. Their children are sleeping on the pavements without any guard against the anti-social elements. Future and self-respect of their daughter are destroyed. In this situation the poor fellow thinks of committing suicide. Fear of Living destroys them more than the Fear of death.

As a true society we all should unite and save our human values and lives. Each one of us should give confidence and an opportunity to a dull minded or sorrow filled hearts. Their energy level should be boosted and their inner sense should be awakened. Any job, menial or scavengerial can be undertaken to fill the stomach. Our aim is to live at any cost. We should make our misery driven brethren to live with dignity. In this connection our friend Mr. A. N. Hari's articles on INSPIRE MINDS is thought provoking and gives the needy an helping hand to win over the tight corners.
